Wow, another week gone and the countdown to Christmas begins in earnest. We pushed harder than I like to to find time to finish school last week and so we are all looking forward to a few weeks off of traditional schooling and focusing on other interests. Some of the things that we have done and plan to do during our break are:
- Finish our Jesse Tree Advent devotional
- Attend a local performance of the Nutcracker Ballet
- Visit a local outdoor Bethlehem Town
- Christmas baking to deliver to our neighbors
- Bake a birthday cake for Jesus
- Rehearsing for our church’s Christmas play
- Sending our Christmas cards
- Reading the pile of Christmas books in our reading basket
- Popping popcorn and watching It’s a Wonderful Life
- Ice Skating
- Taking the long way home so we can drive by all the great Christmas lights in our neighborhood
- Bundle up and drive out to the beach for a long walk
- Mom’s afternoon out with the girlfriends
- Drive to the next town to the $3 movie theater
- Play dates with kids that we never seem to have time to hang out with
